An Unexpected Blog Party

Ok, so I know the Hobbit is totally un-related to AG but when I saw this blog party I just HAD to do it. So, here are the questions:

 

1. How did you first hear about LOTR&The Hobbit?

 

Technically, my mom because she told me about it, but I didn't really get into it until my friend told me about it and the movie, which just happened to come out today.

2.How many times have you read LOTR/The Hobbit? Or have you read it at all?

I have read The Hobbit twice, unless you want to count when I was really little and (apparently) my mom read it to me. I have only read The Fellowship of The Ring, I have been wanting to read The Two Towers but unfortunately I brought The Return Of The King with me instead ( I am still on vacation.)

3.Would you name your child after a character from it?

No, other kids would probably make fun of him/her, though I would consider one as a middle name.

 

4. What are your thoughts on Tom Bombadil? Do you think he should have been in the movie?

Tom Bombadil is ok i guess, he doesn't play a very big role though I wish J.R.R Tolkien would have made that part of the book shorter. I think the movie is fine without him.

 

5. Do you have a favorite piece of poetry from any Tolkien's books?

Hmm... this is really hard, there are so many to choose from! However some of my favorites are Over Misty Mountains Cold, Roads Go Ever, Ever on, and the riddle of Aragorn (i am not exactly sure what its titled, more or less if it has a title.)

6. Have you read any of Tolkien's works besides LOTR and/or The Hobbit?

Nope.

7. Can you write in Tengwar?

Nope.

8.Were you at all disapointed that Prince Imrahil wasn't in the movie?

Um... who is he?

9. What would happen if you and Dethenor were put face to face?

... you know I am not really sure, I would probably scold him for his unfair treatment of Faramir.

10. Would you rather reside in Edoras or Minas Tirith?

Defintely Minas Tirith.

11. What did you think of Éomer's armour?

Weird, but I guess Rohanish.

12. What do you think of Boromir?

I was annoyed with him, but when he died I was like "nooo!"

 

13.Which is your favorite LOTR couple: Rosie&Sam, Arwin&Aragorn, or Faramir&Éyown?

Rosie and Sam :)

 

14. Did you shed any tears when Thorin died?

No, near the end of the book he became an unlikeable character, but that doesn't mean he deserved to die.

 

15.Which is most terrifying of the following: orcs nabbing you in your sleep, giant spiders crawling out of dark tunnels and forests, Nazgul standing right over where you're hiding, or a ghost army that doesn't like you very much?

All of them sound very terrifying, so I would like to avoid all of them, however the giant spiders are the scariest  (I HATE spiders.)

16.How well would you enjoy your life as a hobbit? Would it be preferable to being something like, say an elf? Or a ranger?

I think I would be perfectly happy as a hobbit, doing nothing dangerous and eating far to many meals. Though it would be cool to be an elf. :)
